The Calmar Minor Hockey Association (CMHA) is established to foster and develop organized minor amateur hockey. CMHA intends to provide every minor hockey player in the Calmar and rural area an opportunity to participate in a well-organized and structured hockey program.

The CMHA is based on the following values and beliefs:

All children have an equal opportunity regardless of ability, gender, race or religion.

Participation in CMHA will build life skills through work ethic, communication, teamwork and decision making.

Work with Hockey Alberta and Hockey Canada in the promotion of fair play and promotion of minor hockey programs along with leadership development opportunities.


CMHA promotes the following athlete’s rights:

  • The right to fair and impartial treatment.
  • The right to enjoy the sport and have fun.
  • The right to be treated with dignity.
  • The right to have their needs and not those of the adults fulfilled.
  • The right to have a positive example set by adults in minor hockey.
